Word Filled Wednesday

"...man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord." Deuteronomy 8:3b

I'm reminded this morning of the Israelites in the desert. They were instructed to go out and gather the manna they needed for one day. If they tried to gather enough to last until the following morning, it would have spoiled (with the exception of Sunday).

In addition, their instruction was an action. They were instructed to get up out of their tents and "gather" the manna they needed for the day.

Spiritually, that is exactly what God requires of us.

Have you actively gathered your manna this morning?

God promises that it will be enough for today.

  9. What a great photo and insight. I love that Scripture.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. We got to travel to Beijing in June and visit the Great Wall. As we walked on it this verse came to mind. God is our refuge and our stronghold. A very present help in time of trouble.

Please stop by my blog again. Both of my little boys are grown with sons of their own! They are building their own households of faith. I write my blog to encourage MOMS in the fine art of Christian mothering. Stop by when (and if!) you have a moment.

I am hosting a carnival tomorrow on 5 Things Friday on 5 Favorite Summer Activities with Children. Join in if you can. Blessings as you raise your flock!
