I'm Theresa Miller, a wife, mother of four and a Jesus follower. I wake up each morning seeking joy amidst the trials and imperfections of life. I believe our faith is tested and made strong in the valleys, not simply the mountain top moments. It is there that we awaken to Christ as our life support, because maybe we're suffocating a little; there that we learn to surrender all, because maybe we're dying a little; and there that we ultimately recognize we need a Savior. The valleys are where we persevere – press on toward the goal. They remind us of what we are all longing for – an eternal home.
“We have all had times on the mount, when we have seen things from God’s standpoint and have wanted to stay there; but God will never allow us to stay there. The test of our spiritual life is the power to descend…” Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest
This is the place where I capture the heart of Christ through glimpses into the life of my children, marriage and a writer unfolding. Would you consider joining me on this journey? Allow me to encourage you through your valleys and rejoice with you on those mounts and together recognize the power of Christ wherever we are on this journey? I am so honored. Welcome to my blog!
So much about me and my story reflects the pivotal point in my life when I humbly surrendered the pen of my life to God – particularly, my love life. I was in my mid-twenties and had held the pen to my own story long enough, experiencing false hope and disappointment. I felt lost and alone.
It was in this valley that my eyes were opened to a distant, familiar light– Christ. And it was there that I laid my desires, my hopes, my dreams, my fears and my pride all at his feet.
God used the circumstances of my life to draw me back to Himself and showed me how he had to come first (which you can read about here).
I hope you will be inspired hanging around here with me, as I share heavenly glimpses along this rugged journey. Please let me know it when you are!
